Ralph graduated from the Carleton University School of Architecture with High Distinction, winning the OAA Architectural Guild Medal and OAA Raymore Medal for attaining the highest score in his professional qualifying exams. He is a principal at KWC Architects Inc (Ottawa), and is recognized for his heritage projects; he has won heritage awards for projects on the Central Experimental Farm, at Rideau Hall and the Chateau Laurier Hotel.
During the course of his career Ralph has worked on multi-unit residential, office fit-up, bank, child care, hospital, hotel, and institutional projects. Over the past decade he has developed particular expertise in the adaptive re-use of heritage buildings to accommodate contemporary climate control and telecommunications requirements.
Ralph was Editor of the Ottawa Regional Society of Architects (ORSA) Quarterly Newsletter, as well as Co-chair of the ORSA Official Plan Consultation Committee and Chair of the Design Review Task Force. Ralph was also a Team Leader of OAA CAUSE (Community Assist for Urban Study Efforts), past Chair of the Urban Forum lecture series, and formerly on the Gallery 101 Board, Ottawa’s premier artist run centre.
