Trinity United Church
Location: 1099 Maitland Ave. Architect: James Strutt, constructed: 19?
This usual building was designed to resemble, metaphorically, an ark. Indeed, the congregation has survived many incidents of flooding, albeit, on the inside. The subtly hidden skylights along the top of the soaring hull-like main walls, as well as the lower skylights along the side aisles (now closed-up), were prone to water penetration.
The pointed front end of the 'ark' is a small court enclosed by brick walls.
