BECOR is pleased to organize this incredibly exciting bus tour of two fabulous facilities; Air-Ins Inc., in Varennes, Quebec, and Alumico Architectural, Inc., in Montreal, Quebec Air-Ins Inc. Air-Ins Inc. is an independent testing laboratory accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), approved by the Florida Building Code and recognized by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC). They are recognized by Emploi-Québec as a certified training organization . Robert Jutras, President of Air-Ins Inc., will lead a tour of his facility and explain how they undertake thermal, air, water and structural testing to assess the performance and durability of building envelope components and systems. The exterior tower facility, used for evaluating full scale wall (and multi-storey) facades and curtain wall systems is also included in this tour. NB. Photographs, in general, are permitted to be taken on the premises, however, please respect that in some work areas, the taking of photographs may be prohibited due to the proprietary and/or confidentiality nature of the work in progress. Alumico Architectural Inc. Alumico Architectural Inc is a manufacturer of architectural aluminum products including doors and windows, storefronts, entrances and curtain walls systems for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. Join us as we tour this ultramodern facility of more than 150 000 square feet, located at the heart of Montreal. Their information processing system makes it possible to transfer data directly to the CNC machines without human intervention, enabling them to increase the flow of production with speed and precision. We will tour Alumico Metal and Anodizing Inc. to see how they apply anodic treatment and powder coating on aluminum; Alumico’s surface treatments are dedicated to aluminum such as worked plates, panels, extrusions and machined parts.
