Lisa will do a demo of SkyCalc using climate data from a nearby weather station, and compare performance for alternative specifications, building types, and/or locations. She will explain when it is more appropriate to use other simulation tools, such as eQuest, DaySim, AGi, or Radiance to study skylight performance. This three hour seminar will precede the IES Luncheon Meeting. Seminar Only - IES/ORSA Members - $75 Lunch Only - Members $40 Seminar registration includes continental breakfast. Luncheon Meeting (following the seminar)
"Daylighting: at the Core of Green Buildings" Heschong Mahone Group Daylighting has been shown to be an essential strategy to approaching net-zero energy use in commercial buildings. Recent research also continues to build evidence that occupants benefit from access to daylight and views. Lighting designers and manufacturers need to understand how they can profitably support the growing demand for daylit buildings.
Free parking at the restaurant. Vegetarian Meals are available. Please indicate if you would like a vegetarian meal when you register to attend.
